All drivers carrying dangerous goods within the scope of The Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations require a Vocational Training Certificate (VTC) issued by D.V.L.A. The VTC is issued once a driver has satisfactorily completed an approved course.

Freightsafe offers ADR training courses including the mandatory Core Module, Package Module, Tanker Module and Dangerous Goods Classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9.

Initial courses may be taken upon obtaining a full UK driving licence. Refresher courses may be taken 12 months prior to the expiry of a current certificate but not within the last 6 weeks.

The training provided by Freightsafe is backed by over 25 year's experience. This includes the analysis, handling and classification of a broad range of dangerous goods and products including hazardous and special wastes.

Key Changes in 2007 ADR Regulations

The key change included in the 2007 ADR Regulations is the removal of the 3.5 tonne GVW threshold for Driver Training. The drivers of Ford Transit and Iveco Daily size vehicles carrying dangerous goods within the scope of the regulations will require a VTC appropriate for the dangerous' goods being carried.

Freightsafe also offers Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor consultancy services including waste management and handling.
